Piano Lessons in Midlothian VA
Bach to Rock in Midlothian, VA is enrolling piano students of all ages and skill levels. The piano is a springboard for the study of all other instruments. On the piano, students learn to read notes simultaneously in two different clefs (treble and bass) while developing their sense of polyphony (hearing more than one sound at the same time). The piano is physically easy to play, making it possible for a student to make a good musical sound or combination of notes on the piano faster than on any other instrument. This reinforces the desire to learn.
Our teachers have availability for private & semi-private lessons. We also offer a beginner Kids n Keys class for ages 5-7, which introduces children to the fundamentals of music and piano playing in a fun group-setting.
Check out our student and staff performances around Midlothian and Richmond at places like The Market at Magnolia Green. See our events page for more info.
Don't forget to register early for summer camp. Weekly full and half day sessions are available. Spots fill up fast so don't wait!
You can contact us at 804-537-2271 or email@example.com and we'll be happy to answer all your questions about piano and keyboard lessons as well as all other instruments we offer like guitar, drums, voice, brass, woodwinds and strings.
Practice Contest Winners
The other winners from our Kids n Keys Class are all relatively new to B2R. They have started out strong. Their practice time is definitely reflected in their play and progress. The first two winners are Caspien and Caleb C. (who are brothers). Caspien is 6 and Caleb is 7. They are taught by Jasmine on Sunday afternoons. Caspien practiced every single day of the contest, 29 times, for a total of 455 minutes! Caleb practiced 28 times for 415 minutes! Congratulations to Caspien and Caleb. For their exemplary performance, they will receive 2 tickets each to AMC Dine-In.
Tyler F. and his dad Shannon are BOTH new students at B2R. Tyler is showing his dad how to get it done with 336 minutes over 20 practice times. With dad on drums, Tyler killing it on the keys, the pair will soon be looking for a guitarist to rock out with them. Way to go Tyler. We are all super proud of you and happy that you are here, especially your teacher, Leary. Enjoy your tickets to AMC Dine-In.
We wanted to also give Honorable Mention awards to 3 more awesome students. Olivia and William R. together filled their home with just shy of 7 HOURS of sweet music. Both contributed almost equally to 410 minutes of practice time over 20 days.
And last but not least, a special shout out to our YOUNGEST contestant who has been at B2R since we opened in June of 2016. She started in our Rock City Class and has worked her way into Level 3 of Kids n Keys. Give it up for Margaret F!

Bach to Rock Music School Announces Winners of its Second Annual National Battle of the Bands
Talented Port Kids Rock the 2022 Battle of the Bands at 89 North
In a fierce competition at the 2022 Bach To Rock Battle of the Bands, 20 bands went head-to-head at 89 North Music Venue in Patchogue, NY on Sunday, June 12th. Hundreds of proud parents, family members and fans came to support and cheer on students from B2R Port Washington. The groups competed at the iconic Long Island venue and rocked the spectacular hotspot.
"The students, who range in age from 8 to 18, and their band coaches worked tirelessly to prepare for this epic, annual event and I’m beyond proud of all the performers," said B2R Port Washington Director, Elana Hayden. “After the past two years with virtually no live performances, we were excited and beyond grateful for the opportunity to perform for a live audience at the fabulous 89 North."
Three seasoned music industry professionals, Wayne Schuster (Blood, Sweat and Tears, Phoebe Snow), Amber Ferrari (Paula Cole, Taylor Dayne), and Carl Pfanstiehl (original B2R Director of Operations) judged the performances. Close to 100 students performed in three divisions - Elementary, Middle, and High School – all rocking 89 North. "While this is a competition, the main point is for the kids to have a great experience, get to perform live - and to have fun and feel like a rock star!” said Elana.
The bands were scored on several criteria including musical ability, technical ability, stage presence, material, creativity, and professionalism. All the competitors study a variety of musical disciplines at Bach to Rock music school on Port Washington Blvd, including music theory, instrument instruction, recording arts, performance arts, voice lessons and band coaching.
